You’re In God’s Plan and Purpose

The book of Jeremiah reminds us that God has a purpose for each of us. Not just for a chosen few, but for every person He created with intention and design. I am a true ambivert, a combination of being extroverted and introverted. There are times where my inner diva makes me feel like I can conquer the world, yet there are also times where my anxiety seeps in making me question my every move and sometimes my purpose. God placed it on my heart to do a woman’s event a long time ago. I kept holding the assignment back because I always thought I wasn’t ready. I allowed life circumstances to always put the vision back a few months and then later it turned into years. I saw my internal struggles along with my personal challenges at the time in being overwhelming  place a defeating mentality of procrastination in holding back. I hesitated in overthinking my worthiness for the task. However, with the support of a few encouraging friends and a leap of faith to make the first move everything came together in giving the God’s glory to produce an impactful event.

Many of us remain stagnant, unmotivated, or trapped by imposter syndrome because we spend too much time focusing on what others think of us and whether we are “good enough” for the assignment before us. We question our abilities, compare ourselves to others, and convince ourselves that we are unqualified.

My first independent women’s event was entitled, Restored Radiance: Unlocking Joy and Honoring Strength. I was beyond surprised and overwhelmed with the support in attendance, donations, and outpouring of love that made the event a success. My husband and children along with a few friends really stepped in and ensuring that it was beautiful, organized, and put together. Billy even took it upon himself to make the swag bags with my teens to be of support in completing the task while I was at work. Many lives were touched that day with the event being multi-generational with ladies of all ages. The engagement that coincide with the activities produced not only interactions with the attendees, but I witnessed genuine connections with many of the ladies that attended. I was equally blessed reciprocally by the attendees who shared testimonials and warm post about their experience from the event. If I would have coward out, kept putting the vision to the back burner, or allowed anxiety to produce insecurities I would have missed out on God’s purpose for me to do the event in sharing Christ’s word and how to walk in joy with the Lord.

Scripture reminds us that our calling is not based on our résumé, popularity, or perfection. It is based on God’s purpose. If Christ created you and called you to the assignment, He has already accounted for your qualifications. What He calls, He equips. What He assigns, He prepares. Walk boldly in what God has placed before you. The One who called you is faithful. When God calls us forward, He also provides what we need to walk in that calling.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.
