There are days where I admittedly take off my superhero cape, acknowledging that I can’t do it all. It’s often easier said than done to rely on my personal strength to tackle my ever-growing to-do list and guilty pleasure of overcommitting at times, which involves overextending myself on top of my strained energy as a mother and teacher. As strong, resilient, and intelligent divine creations, we are empowered to overcome life’s challenges, not alone, but with Christ. He is our ultimate source of strength and inspiration, who uplifts us, especially in our exhaustion and depletion.
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
God’s Grace and Strength
I was deeply inspired by the powerful testimony of our Youth Praise Team Leader, who courageously shared her story of resilience and faith in the face of unimaginable loss. Despite navigating the devastating loss of her mother during her high school graduation week, she remarkably found the strength to lead funeral arrangements and participate in senior events, all while discovering the transformative power of God’s strength that carried her through. In a poignant moment of vulnerability, she revealed in our youth church service that it was her unwavering faith that empowered her to persevere, leaving a lasting impact on all who witnessed her remarkable journey. Many of us can bear witness to various seasons in our lives when we were blessed with a supernatural strength beyond our own that gave us endurance focus, and the ability to maintain through whatever challenging circumstances we faced at the time. These moments weren’t by chance or even adrenaline it was by God’s grace, mercy, and renewed strength that helps us pull through.
Renewed Strength
A recent hospital stay due to physical and mental exhaustion from juggling my workload as a teacher, family obligations as a mother, and caregiving for my husband recovering from a stroke took a toll on me. I ignored the signs of being in the danger zone of both a mental and physical breakdown. I had to learn to take better care of my mind and body by resting and replenishing my spirit by connecting with my ultimate power source, Christ. In both trivial and dire moments, we should consider connecting with God through earnest prayer and biblical study. We should also worship Him in spirit and truth for what He has done and will do in our lives. I encourage you to trust in the Lord’s strength for focus, courage, and endurance, knowing He walks beside you. We have limits, but remember God doesn’t. 💋
